Nicholas Courtney – Doctor Who Actor Dies at 81

Nicholas Courtney, whose role was Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart in the British sci-fi TV series “Doctor Who”, died today. He was 81.

Prior to Doctor Who, Courtney made guest appearances in several cult television series, including The Avengers (1962, 1967), The Champions (1968) and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) (1969) as well as a racing driver in Riviera Police (1965).

No exact cause of death has been reported yet.
