The Day The Music Died – Buddy Holly Remembered

We remember the death of Buddy Holly today. The legendary singer and songwriter, died on this date in 1959 when his tour plane crashed following a show in Iowa. The day he died was ‘The Day the Music Died’, in Don McLean song “American Pie”.

The plane crash also killed American rock and roll musicians: Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, as well as the pilot, Roger Peterson.
