MTA LIRR Schedule Updates

MTA LIRR schedule updates. Long Island Rail Road is operating at a reduced schedule due to storm, meaning that some westbound AM trains are canceled, and “Train service replaced by buses east of Speonk on the Montauk Branch and east of Ronkonkoma on the Main Line to Greenport.” Here is the announcement from MTA Info (mta.info) official website:

LIRR to Operate A Reduced Weekday AM Rush Schedule on Thursday, January 27, Including:

* Cancellation of some westbound AM Rush Trains
* Train service replaced by buses east of Speonk on the Montauk Branch and east of Ronkonkoma on the Main Line to Greenport

As a result of the winter storm, the MTA Long Island Rail Road plans to operate a reduced weekday AM Rush schedule. Some westbound AM rush trains will be canceled and trains will be more crowded. Additionally, buses will replace train service east of Speonk on the Montauk Branch and east of Ronkonkoma on the Main Line to Greenport.

While the LIRR will make every effort to operate the Snow Recovery Schedule as outlined below, it is possible that – due to changing weather conditions – additional alterations to the AM rush hour schedule may be necessary. The Snow Recovery Schedule is meant as a baseline to indicate to customers the level of service the LIRR intends to operate after the storm as a result of anticipated weather-related issues.

Customers are urged to check on LIRR service before heading to train stations by monitoring the MTA website, www.mta.info, listening to the latest news broadcasts and traffic reports and/or signing up for the LIRR’s free E-Alerts that provide the latest train information direct from the LIRR train operations center. When at stations, customers are advised to listen to announcements and to take extra care when traveling. Stay clear of the platform edges, use handrails on staircases and walk carefully when entering or exiting stations and boarding or leaving trains because of slippery conditions.

Please visit MTA Info (mta.info) for the specific hours of service.
