WikiLeaks U.S. Embassy Cables Documents Released

The controversial website Wikileaks is currently unavailable after founder, Julian Assange, confirmed the release of U.S. Embassy Cables documents. Assange said through his London lawyer that he had no intention of halting the release. He claimed the administration was trying to cover up alleged evidence of serious “human rights abuse and other criminal behavior” by the U.S. government.

The cables, a huge sampling of the daily traffic between the State Department and some 270 embassies and consulates, amount to a secret chronicle of the United States’ relations with the world in an age of war and terrorism.

The cables are made available news organizations such as The New York Times and the Guardian.
