Pacquiao vs Margarito Results – Pacquiao Wins

These are live updates from Kevin Iole and Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports in the ongoing Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito fight at Cowboys Stadium.

Round 4 begins. Margarito has not been able to work the jab the way he wanted. Manny cornered punches out.

Pacman is a machine whipping off punches to the head. Very quick.

Manny starting to pummel Margarito. shot after shot.

Margarito could be on his way down. He looks shaky.

Crowd chanting “Manny Manny” Margariton is fighting back but he needs to change momentum.

Margarito hit Manny hard on the ropes. Here comes Margarito.

Big echange. Pac Man gets out, Eye on Margarito is nearly all but shut.

Very close round, but I still give it to Pacquiao. He controlled more of the round. Margarito had one flurry near the end that was good 10-9.

I have it 60-54 Pacquiao after six rounds.

Attendance not what they hoped: 41,734.

Round 5 begins. Manny aiming for Margarito’s right side.

Margarito pins Pacquiao on the ropes and lands a combination. Pacquiao claps his gloves after he spins off.

Better round for Margarito, but he still got worked over. 10-9 Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao is devastating. Face is clean five rounds in. Margarito is a mess over in his corner.

Round 6. Margarito is a tough dude, still coming forward. He’s had some moments, just not enough.

Margarito is actuall having maybe his best stretch Moving Manny back a little. Manny countering well.

More of the same early in the sixth here. Just not as many powerful shots from Pacman.

Manny unloading. Margarito counters but Manny punches off the ropes.

HUGE right hook by Manny and now a left over the top.

Manny has been able to get 5, 6 punch combos off almost at will.

Round 7 begins. Manny keeping his disatnce a bit.

Margarito’s face is a mess but he keeps coming and coming. Very tough. Knows its now or never.

Pacquiao firing combinations and ducking away. Pacquiao lands a good right-left to head and then a hard left.

Manny unloading again. And he’s taken his shots too from a bigger man. Two tough guys giving a show.

Five-punch combination to the head from Pacquiao. Relentless. Another four-punch combination.

Fight doctor is look closely at Margarito’s eye, hovering over the corner.

Started eighth.

Margarito keeps pressing but he also keeps getting hit.

Hard shots to head and body from Margarito. Pacquiao pinned on ropes. He spins off and lands his own combination. Amazing.

Margarito lands some big shots in a wild exchange.

HUGE left uppercut lands by Margarito. Pacquiao seems OK.

Pacquiao is like a machine. He has a granite chin, too. 10-9 in the eighth on my card. 80-72 overall for Pacquiao.

Round 9 set to begin, Margarito remains dangerous.

Two huge lefts by Pacquiao snap back Margarito’s head.

Margarito’s nose may be broken also and his left cheek is bruised too. He’s still punching.

Slower round there but still good action. Margarito corner working furiously on nose and cheeks. Lot of work to do.

Round 10. Margarito obviously needs a knock out. Ref checks his right eye now.

Manny again moving better, staying out of needless wild exchanges with the bigger man.

Rapid-fire combination, like 8-9 punches from Manny. Amazing. Margarito is in trouble at this point.

ow, eight unanswered punches from Pacquiao. Should ref Laurence COle stop it? I think maybe yes.

Manny with combo after combo. Not sure how long they can let this go on. Margarito is still punching but this is lopsided now.

Margarito survives round 10 Two doctors now looking at him in corner.

They are going to let Margarito go out for 11.

Margarito has begged to continue but he’s getting drilled. Right eye looks 90 percent closed, right is 40 percent .

Pacquiao looks at cole as if to ask him to stop after landing a combination.

Brutal beating being administered right now. Margarito stands but is getting pounded.

Ref lets it go on after checking eye. This is a mess. Margarito is just getting beaten up.

Twice this round Manny has looked at the ref to have it stopped and yet its continued.

The fight should be stopped. Margarito is being brutalized and CAN’T SEE.

There doesn’t seem to a be a point to letting this continue. Margarito is too tough to stop but he needs to be saved. Round 12, here we go.

NOW, Margarito touches gloves, at start of 12th. He wouldn’t do it at start of fight.

Margarito needs a miracle knockout. He’s headed to the hospital soon either way.

Manny just running the clock now, every combo looks more and more painful.

Start to finish Manny’s speed just cracked Margarito’s face. An incredible performance.

Fights over. Manny will win unanimous decision.

Final scores: 120-108, 118-110 and 119-109 for Pacquiao.
