Pacquiao vs Margarito Pre-fight Updates

Pacquiao: Margarito a slow body puncher

Antonio Margarito is no more than a good body puncher. At least, that’s how Manny Pacquiao sees his opponent on Nov. 13 at the Cowboys Stadium in Texas. “Body puncher lang eh (Just a body puncher),” said the reigning pound-for-pound champion Saturday when interviewed on top of the ring of the Wild Card Gym.

I’ll beat Margarito to the punch, says Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao has one thing in mind to underscore his quickness over Antonio Margarito in their Nov. 13 (Nov. 14 in Manila) title fight at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Beat him to the punch.

“May tama na,” said Pacquiao, explaining he would have already landed a few punches on Margarito by the time the Mexican tries to counter.

As training camp finally winds down before boxing’s two biggest punchers finally come to grips, only minor flaws in their fight plan are being rectified, according to the 31-year-old boxing sensation.

In general, Pacquiao added they’re more than ready to go.

Pacquiao distractions were just for show – ESPN Analyst

John Scully, former super middleweight intercontinental champion and current analyst for ESPN Boxing, does not believe that Pacquiao’s camp is plagued with distractions. Scully also went into details how the same tactic was supposedly employed by Muhammad Ali’s camp many years ago, when Ali fought many thought an inferior opponent. “What people fail to realize is that 24/7 is an edited show.”

He also believes that Pacquiao will be the winner against former welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito. That said, Scully still believes that Margarito can still pull an upset.
