Listeriosis Bacteria Causes Recall

Charcuterie L. Fortin of Alma, Que. issued a recall on ready-to-eat meats. That includes L’Ancien lean cooked old-fashioned ham, L’Ancien old-fashioned ham with fat, Le Doyen old-fashioned ham and Le Boréal smoked Black Forest ham.

The products are being recalled due to possible listeria contamination.

Listeria is a form of bacteria that can lead to a serious illness called listeriosis. Contaminated food may not look or smell spoiled.

Symptoms of listeriosis include: vomiting, nausea, cramps, diarrhea, severe headache, constipation and persistent fever.
