San Francisco Giants Beats San Diego Padres

The San Francisco Giants beat the San Diego Padres 3-0 in Sunday’s regular season finale to claim the NL West title and hand the National League wildcard spot to the Atlanta Braves.

The second-place Padres topped the Giants in San Francisco in the first two games of their three-game series to stay alive but the home team prevailed in the last game behind the shutout pitching of Jonathan Sanchez (13-9) and five relievers.
