15 Penn Plaza Tower vs Empire State Building

Empire State Building officials are not so happy with the coming of a new tower in New York City, known as 15 Penn Plaza. The new skyscraper near the Empire State Building will be almost as tall and this will surely compete for popularity.

Today, the New York City Council has approved plans to build the 15 Penn Plaza Tower. Developer Vornado Realty Trust is looking to tear down the old Hotel Pennsylvania at Seventh Avenue and West 33rd Street for the building, which would have more than 2 million square feet of space for a big financial firm and other companies.

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn explained, “Our skyline is always changing and growing. New York City is not a stagnant city.”
