California 200 Crash – Mojave Desert Video

Authorities say six of the eight people killed when a truck plowed into race fans in the Southern California desert died at the scene and two others died at a hospital.

It took rescue vehicles and helicopters more than a half-hour to reach the remote location of the California 200 in the Mojave Desert near Lucerne Valley. Spectators including off-duty police and firefighters helped the injured.

California Highway Patrol officer Joaquin Zubieta tells the Los Angeles Times that nine of the at least a dozen injured were airlifted to hospitals. More from Yahoo.
