Wisconsin Tornado – Channel 3000 Reports

The National Weather Service, via Channel 3000, said it has numerous reports of tornado touchdowns in southern Wisconsin as a strong storm moves east through the state.

The National Weather Service said it has damage reports from near Whitewater and along the Jefferson and Walworth county line. It did not immediately release details of the damage.

The weather service is recommending that people in the Whitewater, Palmyra, North Pairie, Eagle and Troy Center areas take cover in an interior room of a sturdy building.

The weather service also said trained weather spotters reported a tornado about seven miles northeast of Dodgeville. That storm is also moving east.

Tornado warnings were issued for west-central Dane County and central Iowa County, both in south-central Wisconsin. Flash flood warnings were also issued in the area.

Southern Wisconsin is under a tornado watch through 9 p.m. Thursday.
