Jobbie Nooner 2010

Jobbie Nooner is a wild island party that is held on Lake St. Clair (near Detroit, Michigan) twice every summer. It was originated by a small group of automotive designers (“Jobbies”) including Lee O’Dell who wanted to take co-worker, Lee Wagner, out for his birthday. They decided to blow out of work at lunchtime one Friday (i.e. “Pull a Nooner”), get together on their boats and have a good time. It started 2 decades ago with four boats and seventeen friends. It has grown into the biggest party of the summer with an estimated 1,000+ boats and nearly 5,000 people attending in recent years. It has been nicknamed the “Mardi Gras of the Midwest.”
