Yukio Hatoyama – Japan Prime Minister Resigns

Just after 8 months in the office as Japan’s Prime Minister, Yukio Hatoyama decided to resign. Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama announced his resignation, after repeated meetings with party leaders concerning his plunging approval ratings. He obtains a disapproval rating as high as 75 percent.

Hatoyama has apologized to his supporters for failing on his campaign promise.
