Poughkeepsie Journal – Barry Rothfeld Named Top Publisher Award

Gannett Co. Inc. has selected Barry Rothfeld, publisher of the Poughkeepsie Journal, as publisher of the year. Gannett Co. Inc. owns more than 80 daily newspapers and hundreds of newspaper and television websites in the United States.

Rothfeld has been with Gannett for 37 years.

Before returning to the Journal in 2004, he was publisher of the Ithaca Journal. Previously, he was executive editor of the Poughkeepsie Journal from 1990-1994, editor of Gannett’s Press & Sun-Bulletin in Binghamton from 1994-1997 and served in several newsroom executive roles at what is now The Journal News in White Plains.
