Tulsa Public Schools Closings, Notifications

Several Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) schools experienced power outages due to the thunderstorm that passed through Tulsa in the early morning Thursday. All events (exceptions listed below) hosted at schools were canceled.

Pending school board approval, Tulsa Public Schools students will not have to make up the day missed for power outages on May 13, but teachers will have an additional day of professional development on Friday, June 4.

Following is a list of schedule notifications for events originally scheduled for May 13:

* All testing will be resumed Friday. High School End of Instruction testing will be extended into next week. All ACT Quality Core and Access Wida ELL testing will continue when school has resumed. (see below for AP)

* AP Exams will be rescheduled for May 19-21. View information about the alternate AP exams and the schedule.

* All classes at Fulton are canceled EXCEPT Food Nutrition at 9 a.m.

* SIOP training is canceled for Thursday only! SIOP will be collapsed into two days, Friday and Saturday at Fulton from 8 a.m. until 3:45 pm.

* Central High School’s annual variety show, DAZE, has been rescheduled for Friday, May 21. Doors open for the pre-show at 6:30 p.m. The performance begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $5.

* The Fine Arts Teacher Appreciation Banquet at Philbrook Museum will proceed as scheduled.

* All athletic events are canceled EXCEPT the state baseball tournament.
The Middle School Volleyball Championship is rescheduled for Friday, May 14, at 5 and 6 p.m. at Edison.

* Middle College High School Recruitment Open House has been rescheduled for Monday, May 17, at 7 p.m.

* The Carver Middle School new student orientation has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m.

* Edison Preparatory School’s orchestra concert is canceled.
