Burlington Free Press – Vermont Weather Updates

Vermont residents were surprised of Tuesday’s weather disturbance. The late-season snow storm dumped 3 to 7 inches of snow by Wednesday morning, with 6 to 12 inches likely elsewhere in northern Vermont. According to the Burlington Free Press updates, 20,000 of Vermonters are without power after the storm.

The snow is not expected to cause much damage to crops. Agriculture officials have said temperatures of 28 degrees or lower can damage blossoms on apple and other fruit crops, which would mean reduced yields later this summer. Forecasters said temperatures would remain above 30 degrees throughout the storm.
