Why Does Google Say Topeka

Why does Google say Topeka? If you have used Google today, one thing that will catch your attention is Google’s logo name. Google changed its name to Topeka for April Fool’s.

The concept is in honor of the mayor of Topeka, Kansas who declared last month that he would temporarily rename the city to Google in an effort to persuade the search engine giant to test its new, ultra-fast fiber optics connection in Topeka.

“Google employees once known as ‘Googlers’ should now be referred to as either ‘Topekers’ or ‘Topekans,’ depending on the result of a board meeting that’s ongoing at this hour. Whatever the outcome, the conclusion is clear: we aren’t in Google anymore.”
