Jefferson Cup 2010 Kicks Off

Jefferson Cup Soccer Tournament 2010 kicks off Friday. The 2010 Jefferson Cup Boys Showcase will run from Mar 12 to 14, while the Girls Showcase will run from Mar 19 to 21.

Weather Update: All U16 to U18 Friday Games are on Schedule.

At 6:00 a.m. the Jefferson Cup tournament management committee met to review the updated weather forecast for the Richmond metropolitan area. Since yesterday’s meeting the anticipated rainfall for Friday night into Saturday morning has doubled. Because we had snow on all fields as late as three weeks ago and because of the rain we had overnight and continue to have as I write this email, the fields will likely not be playable on Saturday when the bulk of games are scheduled. As a result, the committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the tournament for all U10 to U15 age groups. U16, U17 and U18 will play as scheduled today. These age groups are already here in Richmond and will begin play today
