Grand Teton National Park – Updates

The Teton Park Road is open to winter recreation. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers may enjoy the intermittently groomed road during the winter non-motorized recreation season.

Located in northwestern Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park preserves a spectacular landscape rich with majestic mountains, pristine lakes and extraordinary wildlife. The abrupt vertical rise of the jagged Teton Range contrasts with the horizontal sage-covered valley and glacial lakes at their base, creating world-renowned scenery that attracts nearly four million visitors per year.

Road Construction has ceased for the winter and will resume in May 2010.

The Teton Park Road from Taggart Lake trailhead to Signal Mountain Lodge is CLOSED to vehicles until May 1, 2010.

Visitors during the spring through fall of 2010 should expect 30 minute delays on the North Park Road between Lizard Creek Campground and Flagg Ranch from May until mid-July 2010. There will also be 30 minute delays on the Teton Park Road between North Jenny Lake and Jackson Lake junctions from May until the end of August 2010.
