Oregon Measure 66 and Measure 67 – Passed
Both measure 66 and measure 67 were passed in today’s Oregon polls. Measure 66 and 67 results show that Oregon voters want the two tax-increase measures.
Ballot Measure 66 would increase income taxes for high-income people earning $125,000 as individuals and $250,000 as a couple.
Ballot Measure 67 increases taxes for corporations and some businesses from the minimum of $10 a year.
Superintendent Rob Saxton said the district expects to get an additional $6.2 billion with the passage. That money will likely be added into the district’s 2010-11 budget, though some services or programs may be added this spring.

I cannot believe what a just plain stupid state Oregon is, while the rest of the country (even socialist Massachusetts) is understanding the business and job killing problems of an over reaching government, the state of Oregon is still simply clueless.
The gross receipts part of Measure 67 will kill us as we operate on a less than 5% profit margin in our Internet based business (try explaining this to dumb elected representatives here in Oregon such as Greg Walden, and yes he is a US rep. but in inquiries for help his office shoed absolutely no compression of business costs, so it is not a Republican vs. Democrat issue in this very politically corrupt state)
While Portland led the way in this anti business vote, other areas still had many votes for these measures.
Even towns that many might consider conservative, such as where my business is located (Grants Pass) are very un-friendly to business; emails and phone calls to our city Counsel are never answered and we recently voted to increase city property taxes at a time when all should be tightening our belts (what was worse about this city tax vote was it was to provide more fund to our already bloated and VERY corrupt PD).
