Audra McDonald, Oumou Sangare Nominated for NAACP Image Awards

Oumou Sangare and Audra McDonald have each been nominated for NAACP Image Awards.

Oumou has been nominated for the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding World Music Album for her latest World Circuit/Nonesuch release, Seya. The album had already been nominated for a Grammy for Best Contemporary World Music Album and was named among last year’s best albums by the New York Times, Boston Globe, and Mojo, among others.

Audra is up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance on the ABC series Private Practice. Her co-star on the show, Taye Diggs, was nominated as Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.
