Frosty the Snowman and Frosty Returns on CBS

frostyCBS will show Frosty twice! The animated “Frosty the Snowman” and “Frosty Returns” are back-to-back tonight.

Frosty the Snowman: Narrator Jimmy Durante, deadpan comedian Jackie Vernon as Frosty and musical-comedy veteran Billy De Wolfe as bad guy Professor Hinkle elevate this animated holiday special (8 p.m. CBS).

The 1992 sequel, “Frosty Returns,” follows at 8:20 with the voices of John Goodman and Jonathan Winters.

George Stevens: A Filmmaker’s Journey: Filmmaker George Stevens Jr. created this 1984 documentary as a tribute to his father, whose filmography includes “Gunga Din,” “I Remember Mama,” “A Place in the Sun,” “The Diary of Anne Frank,” “Giant” and “Shane” (3 p.m. TCM).

Enchanted April: Four women (Josie Lawrence, Miranda Richardson, Polly Walker, Joan Plowright) leave their various troubles behind when they rent an Italian villa in San Salvatore in director Mike Newell’s leisurely paced, endearing 1991 adaptation of a novel by Elizabeth von Amim (5 p.m. TCM).

Love the Beast: Eric Bana shares his lifelong obsession with cars and the destruction of his first vehicle in this 2009 TV documentary (7 p.m. Speed).

The Nativity Story: Director Catherine Hardwicke tells the story of Mary and Joseph (Keisha Castle-Hughes, Oscar Isaac), who head for Bethlehem as they await the arrival of a child who is destined to change the history of religion in this 2006 drama (8 p.m. TNT).
