Chicago beaches swimming ban today

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago opened the Wilmette locks Friday to release water from Friday’s severe storms into the lake. That is why the Chicago Park District has issued a swim ban at all Chicago beaches today, Saturday.

Officials took water samples Saturday morning that will be tested to determine whether the beaches will be safe to re-open Sunday, according to Faulkner.
